Beech Wood: Best known and most commonly used deciduous trees. Beech wood is light to pinkish in colour and features texture that is not very distinctive. The wood is hard, relatively strong, less elastic, homogeneous and dense.
The standard surface finish for beech is either lacquered (water based varnish, UV protective, easy to clean and maintain) or oiled (matt protective layer that does not peel or crack and allows wood to breathe; minor damages can be sanded and re-oiled with this surface treatment; oil also brings out the natural colour of the wood).
Stained Wood Finish: Staining is applied by either immersion or spraying and then finished with a layer of transparent lacquer. This finish allows for the individual wood characteristics to be visible. Staining does not affect the wood structure.
